| Warm, welcoming and informal, fish features heavily on the menu at Giovanni’s, with such dishes as king scallops steamed in white wine with mushrooms, cream parsley and lemon and linguine mare and Monti clams and mussels offering simple yet precise and pleasing cooking. Vegetarians can also choose from such delights as a risotto of wild mixed mushrooms and warm goat’s cheese in pastry with herbs, sun blush tomatoes, courgettes and red pesto dressing. Meat is always popular on an Italian menu and Giovanni’s is no exception: veal chops with garlic, wild mushrooms, spring onions, thyme rosemary and Barolo wine is often ordered, as is the “Gondoliera” a fillet of beef with crabmeat, prawns, smoked salmon and vodka sauce. |
